Don’t panic! Here’s what you need to do first.
You need to identify the bug that’s biting you. Make sure it’s a bed bugs, so you can fully use this website. To clear all suspicions, grab a look at indications of bed bugs.
You can also check the media file (pictures and videos) for more insight on how they look like.
If you’re sure it’s bed bugs, first thing to do is not changing your sleeping location to another room or place for three main reasons :
- bedbugs may follow you to your new place (sofa, another room for example), it will be harder then to get rid of them once spread,
- bedbugs may infest new homes (friends’, parents’), by you moving to there’s,
- they may dorm (kind of hibernation) as they can live without feeding for about 18 months, and get back to there normal biting once you’re back.
So yes, staying home, sleep on your regular bed and find a way facing it (treating it) is the wise thing to do.
You’ll find your way around getting rid of bed bugs on the guides sections, spray treatments and mattress encasements if the infection is minor, to end up with Pest Control Operators (PCO) if the infection is major.
Please, don’t try bed bugs yourself using heavy chemicals. This may endanger your life and your family’s. If you don’t feel like you’re able to treat it yourself, call on a PCO, it’ll save you time and money, and even some health.
Some people will recommend you to use foggers. Simply don’t. This may make them spread deeper and dorm, and it’ll be difficult even for a PCO to get rid of them definitively.
Don’t waste your time, and get already to the guides section.
